The National Negotiation Competition is our flagship that receives an outpouring response from leading law schools across the country every year. Previously, the competition has been conducted in collaboration with various government institutions such as the Indian Institute of Arbitration and Mediation, Centre for Mediation and Conciliation, Bombay Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Presolv360 and the Negotiation Academy. The competition receives an outpouring response from leading law schools across the country every year.
This year, the Negotiation Competition is being organized in collaboration with CAMP Mediation, Association of Mediation Practitioners, Presolv360 and SCC Online. The Competition itself consists of four rounds and four problems. Each problem has been creatively drafted and has cleverly taken inspiration from real-life contemporary conflicts, framing the Competition to be an excellent demonstration of how alternative dispute resolution methods can help resolve real conflicts with real people involved.
The participants were explained by Mr. Prathamesh D Popat and Ms. Tanu Mehta about the concept of negotiation and how they are supposed to not agree to some situations but rather understand how feasible it is for both the working parties to separate the person from the problem.
The final round was judged by Mr. Tom Valenti, Ms. Gunita Pahwa, Mr. Jawad AJ, Ms. Rukmani Menon, Mr. Siddharth Jain. The Rajiv Gandhi National University of Law, Patiala was declared as the winner with the Himachal Pradesh National Law University, Shimla being the runner-up. O.P. Jindal Global University, Sonipat was adjudged as the Best Team in Preliminary Rounds. The team representing RGNUL consisted of Paritosh Vir Singh Baath & Pratham Malhotra who secured an internship opportunity with CAMP Mediation.
